Central New York
Yesterday at Green Lakes…
absolutely beautiful. when i was younger, these few precious days of high autumn would make me a little sad because they were so fleeting. now i try to look at them as a peak, as a reward, akin to the first ‘greening’ of the maples in the spring.
The way we experience fall here in the Northeast is very special; it has the feeling of a “peak vision quest experience” and yet you don’t have to go out alone in the desert to have it. It’s a communal experience. Living in a place with four seasons readjusts the consciousness in a way that helps keep us all on the same wavelength.
Ellen: Great photos. My favorite time of year and my favorite outdoor spot in CNY. I was there too! http://www.flickr.com/photos/philatsun/2942829156/
Sean: Fall is like chocolate. When you’re a kid you want the sweetest gooiest mess (and as much as you can eat.) When you get older, you appreciate a couple of squares of 70% cacao dark chocolate–savoring the taste.
That is beautiful.
I miss the NY Autumn
